So much of wood fence work involves the amount of square footage being enclosed, as well as the number of posts we will need. Posts are the most time-intensive element to install, since they are the absolute backbone of the fence. Install them wrong and you have yourself a fence that will start to fall apart, mildew, or deconstruct after a few years. Install them right and you have something that can last you a lifetime.
Here are some of the factors that go into giving you your quote for a wood fence installation.
How Affordable is a Wood Fence?
Some of the key elements in giving you an accurate price for your wood fence install are:
- Square footage enclosed. This is perhaps the biggest factor, which makes sense. The more land you want to build the fence around, the more expensive.
- Shape of land enclosed. Something you may not have thought about, though, is that the shape of the land matters. If we can construct a simple square that’s fairly easy–4 right angles and we’re done. But if your lot has any odd angles, or you want your fence to turn and curve at certain areas (to block of a particular part of your yard, for example) then that ups the price.
- Kind of wood used.
- Do you want the fence to be painted or no?
- How many rails or vertical boards do you want in-between the posts? This needs to be determined up front for us to correctly construct the fence.
- Do you want any additional wood finishes or sealants, on top of the sealant and finish we already give to our material?
How Long Does it Take to Install a Wood Fence?
If you give us a call today we can get the process rolling. We’ll get a lot of information over the phone and then probably come out and inspect your land. While we’re there we can go over any questions, wish-list items, or requests that you have. After that, our team member will come back to the office, write up a quote and send it to you. As a general rule, a wood fence installation is anywhere from $3,000 to $10,000, again depending on the size of the land enclosed and the other factors listed above.
If that quote is good with you we can get the construction process started. Assuming we don’t have supply chain issues (which have been somewhat of an issue for any construction work in the last year) we can finish the install in 3-4 weeks.
